TUV Functional Safety Technician - Virtual (English)
This is a live-streaming, instructor-led online course discussing requirements, methods, and practical application of machine and process safeguarding. This course will provide the learner, with a skill level sufficient for correctly maintaining machine safeguarding devices and safety controls to meet the safety standard requirements. Upon successful completion of the class and receiving a passing grade on the exam, students will receive a Functional Safety Technician (TÜV Rheinland) certificate and be registered as a FS Technician (TÜV Rheinland).
Each training session will be 3.5 hours long and training will be held on 5 consecutive days. 10 students max.
This course is intended for Technicians, Engineers, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) professionals with a minimum (one) year of factory floor manufacturing experience, or a minimum (one) year commercial / industrial electrical maintenance experience.
Before attending this course, the following eLearning classes modules, should be completed via the Omron website:
- A063 – Introduction to Safety
It is recommended that the following eLearning classes also be completed via the Omron website:
- B025 – Safety Light Curtain Basics
- B037 – Safety Interlock Switch Basics
- A computer with Internet connection will be required for access to: www.automation.omron.com/en/us/products/category/safety products
- Zoom.us.com installed on computer will be required. Students can download www.zoom.us.com if they do not currently have the software installed on their own PC.
Registrants may cancel or reschedule training sessions without penalty, if notice is given more than 10 business days prior to the first day of training. Cancellation or rescheduling notices given less than 10 business days prior to the first day of training, will be assessed a fee equal to 50% of the training cost. If no notice is given and registrant fails to attend, 100% of the training cost will be invoiced. Omron reserves the right to cancel a class 10 business days prior to the first day of training if the minimum registration requirement is not met.
